Atalante Type 57SC n°57384 1936 Exceptional scale model

This Bugatti Type 57S Atalante of 1936 is a rare and exceptional car. In addition to its stunning line, it receives the tasty 8-cylinder engine in line, with a 3.3-litre cylinder capacity and double camshaft in mind. Originally, he delivered 180 horsepower. After a period of immobilization during the war and three changes of owners, the elegant coupe benefited from a full restoration in 1971, following a small fire on the dashboard. This was an opportunity to draw inspiration from Type 57SC, including the Roots compressor, new crankcases, a SC gearbox and various mechanical components. The power went up to 200 horsepower. In order to effectively lower the bodywork, it was necessary to completely review the front gear, now articulated in two parts. As for the rear, the train crosses the frame of the chassis.

In fact, this Bugatti Type 57S Atalante was the third ordered but the first delivered. In 1990, it was completely renovated again before it came into the hands of its fifth owner, Swiss, who has preserved it for three decades.
