The PSM miniature workshop (Pierson Scale Models) is a real sanctuary dedicated to the manufacture of custom-made reduced models. Located in Auvergne, close to the spas of the Vichy basin, this unique space, where tradition and innovation coexist harmoniously, embodies French know-how in what it has most noble.
Every corner of our high-end modeling workshop bears witness to an absolute passion for perfection and an unwavering commitment to craft excellence.
Our workshop has carefully selected and often tailor-made equipment to meet the specific requirements of each project. Conventional machines work alongside specially crafted tools, creating a working environment where every operation can be performed with optimum precision. This unique infrastructure allows the creation of parts of exceptional finesse, impossible to obtain by standard industrial means.
The spatial organization of the modelling workshop reflects the different stages of creating a PSM miniature. Spaces dedicated to precision machining, sheet forming, foundry and assembly allow an optimal workflow. Each workstation has been designed to promote the concentration and thoroughness needed to make our models. This configuration allows our artist to easily switch from one technique to another, ensuring perfect consistency in each production.
The French know-how that drives our workshop is expressed through the mastery of ancestral techniques rarely practiced at this level of excellence. The lost wax foundry, a millennia-old process, makes it possible to obtain pieces of unparalleled finesse in brass and aluminum. Each cast is a unique performance where the artist's experience and intuition play a crucial role in the success of complex pieces with delicate details.
Dinander and sheet metal forming are the essence of our manufacture. These techniques, exclusively manual, transform brass and mesh short sheets into bodywork with perfect curves. Every hammer stroke, every passage on the shape requires a tactile sensitivity developed over the years. This approach ensures that every miniature produced in our workshop is truly unique, bearing in it the imprint of the creative gesture.
Precision machining completes our technical pallet. Milling, turning, stamping: each operation is carried out according to the actual automotive manufacturing processes, on a scale of 1/8. This fidelity to the original methods ensures not only perfect visual realism, but also the functionality of all the mechanisms, transforming our creations into real mechanical watchmaking prowess.
Each model is painted in our workshops with two-component direct gloss paints, such as original vehicles. Modern varnishes are banned in favor of polishing and final polishing, giving our paint finishes an ultra realistic depth and shine.
The selection of materials in our model workshop is based on draconian criteria of excellence. Each wood is chosen for its proportional veining to the scale, each piece of leather for its grain and its flexibility. Metals – brass, mallechort, aluminum – come from specialized suppliers that guarantee a constant quality essential for the artisanal manufacture of miniature parts.
We pay particular attention to flexible materials. Leathers and fabrics are selected and then worked according to patterns specifically created for each model. The hand seam, made with wires adapted to scale, faithfully reproduces the luxury car saddlery techniques. This meticulous approach gives each cabin an incomparable authenticity and warmth.
The final assembly mobilizes all the skills of our French know-how. : screws, bolts, rivets and welds exactly reproduce the original assembly methods. The use of glue is strictly limited to non-metallic materials, thus preserving the mechanical integrity and authenticity of each creation leaving our workshop.
